Corporate Trivia Night (Career-Impacting)
The Fun Arm — Trivia. Wrong answers logged. Permanent HR record.
Corporate Trivia Night (Career-Impacting) is Gristmill's most efficient engagement mechanism, delivering entertainment, knowledge assessment, and permanent performance documentation in a single four-hour event. The program was developed after analysis of engagement metrics across client sites revealed that employee participation in voluntary activities was not sufficiently documented.
Employees compete in teams answering questions about company history, organizational structure, product details, and executive-level business strategy. All questions and answers are recorded. Employees who answer incorrectly have their names, team assignments, and specific wrong answers logged in the corporate HR system as 'knowledge assessment gaps.' This information becomes part of the employee's permanent record and is accessible to managers during performance planning and promotion discussions.
The program has been deployed at seven client sites over the past two years. Participants report that the program creates a satisfying competitive dynamic while also providing clear signaling to management regarding employee knowledge retention and engagement with company strategy. Repeat participants show measurably higher accuracy on subsequent trivia nights.

Engagement Model
Gristmill works with your HR and communications teams to develop trivia questions and identify priority knowledge areas. The event is scheduled during working hours with mandatory or strongly encouraged participation. All questions, answers, and participant information are captured in a database connected to your HR system. Managers receive access to identify who answered questions incorrectly, allowing them to address specific knowledge gaps during the review period. Gristmill can run the event annually or quarterly, depending on your knowledge-assessment frequency targets.
